It’s a great way to unwind after a day of partying on the Las Vegas Strip, where the noise, lights, and nonstop partying may be overwhelming.
However, despite being the world’s entertainment center, the Las Vegas Strip does not have a movie theatre. Located immediately north of MGM Grand and behind Showcase Mall, the United Artists Showcase Theater 8, the Strip’s lone movie theatre, closed on January 28, 2018.
Aside from the Strip, there are three nearby movie theatres.
Casinos house two of these multi-plexes, while a shopping mall houses the other three.
Theaters in Las Vegas that are the closest to the Strip
(The three closest movie theatres near the Las Vegas Strip are shown on this map.) The AMC Town Square, the Brenden at the Palms, and the Century at the Orleans Hotel & Casino. ()
The Palms Hotel & Casino, across from the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino, is the nearest movie theatre to most guests staying on the Strip.
The Brenden Theater Palms is located on 14th Street.
To get to the theatre, most of you may take an Uber, Lyft, or a cab from the Palms Hotel/Casino, which is only 1.3 miles west of the Strip.
The Brenden Theater is situated close to the right of the casino’s west parking garage as you enter the casino.
With a seven-story screen and 14 screens, The Brenden claims to be the biggest Imax cinema in Las Vegas. Additionally, the theatre hosts the Las Vegas Film Festival each year.
The Brenden Theater just had a makeover and now has leather recliners, reserved seats, and even a bar. Tickets may be bought at kiosks in the lobby or through Fandango, as in many other theatres.
They were less expensive than in my hometown, and afternoon concerts (before 6 p.m.) and their all-day Monday deals are even better.

The Palms Hotel/Casino provides free parking if you’re driving in.

The 18th-century city of Orleans
About a mile and a half away from the Strip, you’ll find the Orleans Hotel & Casino. The Century Orleans 18 is located on the second story above the casino floor.
Century Orleans is part of the Cinemark brand movie theatres and has 18 screens, recliners, and a bar serving beer, wine, and hard cider.

AMC Theaters Town Square Mall
However, the AMC Town Square theatre is located on Las Vegas Boulevard, just south of the Las Vegas Strip. This enormous multi-plex lies two miles south of Mandalay Bay, the Strip’s southernmost casino, and is the only one near the Strip that is not housed inside a casino.
The Town Square Mall Las Vegas’ Town Square Theater is the biggest theatre in the area, with 18 screens located on the mall’s west side.
Imax screens, armchairs in select theatres, smartphone ticketing, and a full bar are also available. Known as MacGuffins, the pub sells a variety of beverages, including beer and wine and standard cocktails.
This is related to whether or not it’s legal to drink and drive in Las Vegas.
Free parking may be available on the west side of Town Square, only a short walk from the Square itself. It’s also a short distance from McCarran International Airport, where passengers have used rideshares to watch a movie while waiting for a flight.

The Palace Station Hotel & Casino, slightly north and west of the Strip, is home to the closest Regal Cinemas location to the Las Vegas Strip.
The Cinebarre Regal includes nine screens and in-seat food and drink service. Seats have tables in front of them, and the menu is 20 pages long. To put it another way, this isn’t just buttery popcorn.
A ten-minute drive in typical traffic would get you to Caesars Palace, Bellagio, and other major attractions on the Strip around 3.3 miles from Palace Station.
Las Vegas has several other cinemas.
The list above does not include all of Sin City’s theaters, of which there are many. However, if none of these three movie theatres on the Strip are conveniently positioned for you, several other casinos have multiplexes.
In Las Vegas, movie theatres may be found in casinos like Sam’s Town, South Point Hotel Casino & Spa, Boulder Station, Texas Station, and the Suncoast. Other casinos with movie theatres include Aliante, Sante Fe Station, Red Rock, the Cannery Casino & Hotel, and Green Valley Ranch.
Downtown Las Vegas’s closest movie theatre is near Fremont Street.
The Eclipse Theater is the closest movie theatre to downtown Las Vegas. It is located 7/10 of a mile south of Fremont Street.
It opened in late 2016 and featured 8 screens, each smaller and more intimate than your standard cinema, making it an upmarket theatre.
The Eclipse, which is only available to those over the age of 21, provides in-screen eating where you can order from a menu and have it brought to your seat. We’re not just going to eat nachos, either. Tuscan Beef Short Ribs and Maine Lobster Rolls are among the many items on the menu.
In addition to the terrace, lounge, and full bar, there are specialized drink menus available.
