July 4th Fireworks in Las Vegas 2022 – Times & Where to Watch

On the 4th of July, unlike you and I, the world’s most famous party city does not take a day off.

Sin City goes all out on Independence Day, firing off thousands of fireworks that illuminate the night sky above the Strip even more than normal. Despite the cancellation of last year’s event, over 320,000 visitors traveled to Las Vegas for the Christmas season in 2019.

Fireworks are fired from casinos on the Strip, Fremont Street downtown, and at select off-Strip casinos on the Fourth of July (or the closest weekend).

On Sunday, July 4, at 11 p.m., fireworks will light up the sky above the Las Vegas Strip.

There are other fireworks displays in downtown Las Vegas at the Plaza Hotel Casino, off-strip local casinos, a baseball stadium, and Henderson, a neighboring suburb.

Travelocity has ranked Las Vegas in the top five of the country’s best 4th of July fireworks experiences.

July 4th Fireworks on the Las Vegas Strip in 2021

Sunday, July 4th, 2021: 11 PM

On the Fourth of July in the past, Caesars Palace was responsible for all of the festivities. They used to be the only casino in town to let off fireworks every once.

However, in 2021, seven casinos will join forces to put on a fireworks display from the top of their separate resorts.

In celebration of the Fourth of July, the following Las Vegas casinos will light off fireworks displays:

  • The Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Palace of the Legion of Honor at Caesars
  • Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood Resorts World
  • The Strat’s version of a lost city
  • The Venetian Resort & Casino Hotel & Spa

The Julius Tower, a tower of Caesars Palace, is where the city’s fireworks are launched. Fireworks are being sent off from the top of the 1,149-foot Stratus Tower. An 8-minute performance is the target runtime for this year’s event.

Grucci’s website reports that “Fireworks by Grucci” has been in charge of the performance for many years and will continue to do so for this year’s Fourth of July celebration.

Viewing Spots for July 4th Las Vegas Fireworks

From Aria on the southern end of the Strip to the Strat on the northern end, the aerial show above may be seen from practically any point along the Strip.

The stairs at the Purple Zebra bar in front of Caesars Palace are one of the best sites but expect to see many people. A place on the Strip between Treasure Island and the Venetian is good if you want to see some pyrotechnics.

Various casino bars and clubs provide spectacular views of the fireworks but at a hefty price.

The pedestrian bridge between Bally’s and the Bellagio offers excellent views of the Caesars fireworks display. I’ve seen it from there many times myself.

The majority of casinos will host watching parties and offer drink specials in honor of the game. Drink and meal deals will be offered by several establishments along the Linq Promenade on July 4.

At the Strata Festival of Fireworks

If you’re looking for some of Vegas’ most spectacular fireworks displays, go no farther than Strat Hotel & Casino on the extreme north end of the Strip. Starting at dark, the Strat’s tower will be illuminated in red, white, and blue.

Tickets to see this concert from the tower are $40 each.

Parties to Watch the Fireworks in Las Vegas

  • Margaritaville, linked to the Flamingo Hotel & Casino, is a wonderful (although pricy) viewing site immediately across from Caesars. The Strip is only a few feet away.

They charge $135 per person to attend their fireworks-watching party, including an open bar, food, and a guaranteed spot. Eventbrite.com is the website where reservations may be made. (As of this edit, I couldn’t find a link on Margaritaville’s website).

  • The Linq’s RE: match, just off the Strip, has great views and location. It is, however, one of the most expensive events I’ve attended. You may receive an open bar from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. for $157.97, including tax and gratuity, in a standing-room-only area.
  • On July 4, the Beer Park at Paris Casino, which views out over the Strip and the Bellagio fountains, was sold out by mid-June for 7/4/21. Tickets for two persons cost $107.99, with $100 going toward food and drink.
  • As of this update, there are still tables available to buy at Paris’ Chateau rooftop nightclub. While a 4-person reservation will run you $321.99 (not including tax or tip), it comes with a $300 beverage credit as part of the package.
  • While the Omnia at Caesars Palace and The Cromwell offers excellent Strip views, big-name performers usually play at these clubs on the 4th of July. In Omnia on the 4th, Illenuim will be performing, while Wiz Khalifa will be performing for Drái’s.

Events on the Las Vegas Strip for the Fourth of July of 2021

Looking for something more than simply fireworks for your Vegas Independence Day celebrations? It’s a busy day on the Strip’s entertainment calendar, with a wide variety of concerts and events. Tickets are still available, even though many are already gone. (I may get a commission if you buy concert tickets via these affiliate links.)

In terms of importance, the following are the top three:

Bruno Mars will play two 9 p.m. gigs at Park MGM on the 3rd and 4th of July. The 9th and 10th of July are also on the schedule, as are the 23rd and 24th of July.

Performing at the Ayu Dayclub on July 4, Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray’s daughter, helped launch Resorts World, a new $4.3 billion resort on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. The 100,000-square-foot LED screen on the resort’s side will be used to broadcast the spectacle.

No, the $300 isn’t a typo; it’s the fee to get in the door. Here’s where you can get your tickets: ZoukGroupLV.com (they are the nightclub company that operates the day club.)

In the Allegiant Stadium, Illenium, The new(er) Allegiant Stadium in Mandalay Bay will host its debut performance, featuring the famous EDM act Illenium. The concert begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 3.

Everyone from comedians (Dave Chappelle at the MGM Grand) to magicians to male strippers are back on stage, greeting audiences after the epidemic forced the closure of their establishments.

Entertainment: David Copperfield, Penn & Teller, and Shin Lim will be performing magic performances during the July 4th holiday weekend at the MGM Grand, Rio, and Mirage, respectively.

The Blue Man Group at the Luxor, Terry Fator at the NY-NY, and the always-popular Cirque productions Mystere at Treasure Island and Cirque du Soleil’s “O” at the Bellagio are just a few of the popular events taking place this weekend.

On Saturday, July 3, Tyga will perform at 10:30 p.m. at Aria’s Jewell nightclub. In the same vein, Megan Thee Stallion will take the stage Saturday night at Omnia at Caesars Palace for a performance.

The 4th of July in 2021 in Mandalay Bay

This year, there doesn’t seem to be a fireworks display at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino, located at the southernmost tip of the Strip. However, their traditional Fourth of July weekend beach music series is still going forward.

On Sunday, July 4, 2021, Sublime with Rome will headline this year’s July 4 beach event. Currently, tickets cost $55.96. Standing room only for general entry.

Strip Fireworks in Vegas’ Downtown Fremont District

When you’re looking through a huge canopy, it’s difficult to see fireworks in the sky, but that won’t stop one Fremont Street hotel from staging a fireworks display again.

Celebrations at the Plaza Hotel & Casino’s 50th anniversary will include three fireworks evenings!

July 2nd, 3rd & the 4th – 10 pm

The Plaza’s rooftop pool area is the finest place to see the fireworks display. It used to be a large free celebration on the patio (with patriotic $12 red, white, and frozen blue drink deals), but I think it’s only open to guests of the hotel this year.

During the Fourth of July weekend, the Fremont Street Experience light show features a patriotic ballistic display on a big screen above the people and the actual pyrotechnics.

Displays in and around the city of Las Vegas

The Strip isn’t the only place to go if you’re ready to explore.

Fireworks at Red Rock Casino and Green Valley Ranch in 2021

Every year, the Stations Casinos network of local casinos puts on a Fourth of July fireworks display, and this year is no exception. Texas Station and Fiesta Rancho Casinos have previously hosted pre-parties and fireworks exhibitions for New Year’s Eve. However, this year they will not.

There will be fireworks displays in Henderson and Summerlin this year, as has been the case for several years.

Each casino’s show will go on for 10 minutes.

Green Valley Ranch – 9 PM on July 4th, 2021

GVR has hosted music and a public pool party before the fireworks display in the past. A private party was held for selected guests during the last concert of 2019.

Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa – 9 PM on July 4th, 2021

Those who are not staying at Red Rock may park in the south parking lot and walk to the stage to catch the event.

The Lake Las Vegas Fireworks in 2021.

Annual fireworks show over Lake Las Vegas at 9 p.m. on July 4, roughly 19 miles east of the Strip.

During the Fireworks, there will be patriotic music.

Radio stations in Las Vegas have broadcast patriotic music throughout the fireworks in prior years. Sunny 106.5, 95.5 The Bull, 93.1 (the Mountain), and Real 103.9 are among the stations mentioned.

During the Fourth of July, the Las Vegas Aviators and the fireworks in Summerlin.

There are generally two July 4th fireworks shows in Summerlin.

The performance at Red Rock Station (shown above) will be accompanied by pyrotechnics at Las Vegas Ballpark, the city’s brand-new, world-class minor league baseball facility.

Las Vegas Aviators baseball stages after-game fireworks show on or around Independence Day like many other minors and big-league baseball clubs.

On Saturday, July 3, 2021, the Aviators took on Sacramento at home. There will be fireworks following the game at 7:05 p.m.

The fireworks of Henderson

In the past, fireworks displays from Heritage Park have been held in Henderson (south and east of the Strip).

The “Star-Spangled Sky 2021” performance, which begins at 9 p.m. this year, has four separate shows.

The M Resort Spa Casino and the Galleria at Sunset Mall will also have fireworks displays and the previously announced ones at Green Valley Ranch and Lake Las Vegas.

Fireworks in a water park.

The renowned east-side waterpark Cowabunga Bay has fireworks shows every Saturday night. For the Fourth of July weekend of 2021, there will be an 8:45 p.m. fireworks spectacular (July 2, 3, and the 4th). Food trucks and a DJ will be on hand.

Starting at 8 p.m., Wet n’ Wild waterpark hosts its “Red, White, & Wild” celebration at the other end of the valley. When it becomes dark, there will be fireworks.

Some Random Information about Fireworks

  • The average daily high temperature for the 4th of July is 103.5 degrees, which is surprising given the year. Even though the fireworks display will be cooler at night, the Strip’s many structures and people will still trap heat.

A bit colder than normal is forecast for the vacation in 2021. As of this Sunday, July 4th update, Las Vegas is forecast to reach 102 degrees. According to Weather.com, when the fireworks go off at 11 p.m., the temperature will be 93 degrees with a 0% chance of rain, according to Weather.com.

At 9:30 on July 4, 2014, Caesars Entertainment (the proprietors of the Linq) staged a fireworks show on the promenade. The High Roller observation wheel was the backdrop for the display of fireworks.

At the TPC Summerlin Gold Course in 2018, the Las Vegas Philarmonic played a “Star-Spangled Spectacular,” followed by a Zambelli (the “first family of fireworks”) pyrotechnics show.
